Clouds will vary in terms of type, form and color. The colors of the clouds would depend on the weather condition. When the weather is fair, it appears cottony with a flat base and distinct outlines, and colors range from white to light gray. If there is a persistent rain the color would be dark gray. This is a nimbostratus cloud, featureless layers of clouds, thick enough to block out the sun. “He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills” (Psalm 147:8).
But once again we might be wondering if how
are clouds formed? Let’s go back to the basic scientific process on clouds
formation. Evaporation occurs on the surface of a liquid as it changes into the gas
phase below the temperature at which it boils; in particular, the process by
which liquid water enters the atmosphere as water vapor. Then, Condensation is the process where water
vapor turns to liquid. Condensation generally occurs in the atmosphere when warm air raises
cools and loses its capacity to hold water vapor. As a result, excess water
vapor condenses to form cloud droplets.“The clouds
poured out water; the skies gave forth thunder; your arrows flashed on every
side” (Psalm 77:17).
One evening, I have a vision coming from
the spirit of God. It is all about the “clouds of life”. Our lives can be
compared to the clouds in the sky. As we can imagine the clouds looks frail and
weak. However, it performs the greatest role in this world. Because without
these clouds what will happen to the earth we are dwelling in? Definitely, in
the long run we will surely die of starvation.
“Which the skies pour down and drop on mankind abundantly” (Job 36: 28).
The clouds though weak it
has the greatest duty to provide rain for plants and animals survival. The
water is one of the factors for plant growth and development. The plant is the
source of food for both human and animals. Somehow in this life, our spirits
becomes feeble because of trials that we encounter. Thus, drive us to
hopelessness, like the clouds we also play an important role in this life. God
uses our flaws so that we will be useful according to His purpose. Therefore,
my friend, move and be fruitful like the clouds in the sky. “In the light of a king’s face there is life, and his favor
is like the clouds that bring the spring rain” (Proverbs 16:15).
times in our lives that we are very much eager to do great things- after hearing
God’s word from a church pastor or attendance to Christian activities. This
Christian zeal is still fresh that we wanted to apply it to our own life and share
to other people as well. During this moment that we wanted to be virtuous and
do only what is good. “The mouth of the
righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out” (Proverbs
10:31). We strive to flee from temptation and walk in the fullness of life.
Every word that is coming out from our mouth is gentle and full of respect to
others. However, how long would it last?
This Christian zeal is being influenced by the experiences we encounter with God’s children. The spirit of God is on fire within us and we can do great things, if we are able to acknowledge it, before it would last and the devil will snatch it away from our thoughts. “I will set the LORD always before me, because he is my right hand, I will not be shaken” (Psalm 16:8). Our hearts during this moment of joy is willing to do wonderful things and smile can always be seen in our faces. Our personal outlook will aglow as well, because the pure joy and real peace is instilled deep within us.
As Christians, we must be zealous in doing the tasks that God entrusted to us. This eagerness may weaken when undergoing trials and circumstances. It is during this moment that we must strengthen our faith to God. It is during this time of testing that God wanted to use us for His glory. Remember Paul, God uses his weakness in order to proclaim the Good News to the Gentiles. “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all” (Psalm 34:19). It is on the stage of giving-up that God wanted us to call upon Him in prayer. When our spirit weakens, we will become strong, because God will be the source of our strength.
We all wanted to reach and touch the stars no matter how impossible it may seem. But there are some stymies en route in the fulfillment of our dreams. We even lost our courage and become dreary at times. Most often than not, we ended up belittling our talents and abilities. Paulo Coelho once said, “Remember your dreams and fight for them. You must know what you want from life. There is just one thing that makes your dream become impossible: the fear of failure.”
Then, we realize that we must acknowledge the divine intervention. God must be our Guiding Star in our search for life’s contentment. “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Knowing God’s purpose in our life creates in us a sheer joy and real peace.
After several years of constant searching for my fate, a new door has opened in my life. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:5). After knowing God’s purpose for my life, the genteel spirit of conceding embraces my life with alacrity and peace surmount my heart and mind. I know that the road to God’s will for me is not always unhampered; there will be highest peaks for me to ascend as well as surging waves to overcome. But I’m now certain that this is really His perfect will for me.
According to Mark Twain, “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear not absence of fear.” I may be afraid of the dusk and thorny roads that impedes my way, however I know that God is there waiting at the end of the racing dome. In everything it is upright to follow the will of God for us. If ever we are called you to be a writer, a missionary, a doctor, a teacher, a preacher then, let us do it with much gladness.
We may become exhausted and become dreary on our way towards our fondest dream but with God’s help everything will be alright. Martin Luther King, Jr. boldly said, “We must build dikes of courage to hold back the flood of fear”. It is by our strong faith that we will be able to reach our fondest dream. Let us be reminded that without God’s guidance our journey would on complete weariness.
In Philippians 2:13, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose”. In every anxiety we have, let us not forget that God is but a prayer away. Though sometimes it lingers so long, but it would likely become a reality. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(Mathew 19:26). Let us make God to be our Guiding Star in our sailing with this life in order to reach our grandest dream.
Prayer is one the most powerful form of communication between God and man. It is free of access and the only password we need is our strong and unbearable faith to Him. Prayer is an expression of our connection to God. A man who losses hope and can’t find a solution to his problem, should ask God’s guidance without a single doubt in his heart and it will be given to him. Our Lord is a generous God, if only we trust on Him completely our requests would be granted on His own perfect timing.
Prayer however is not a monologue. When we pray we must also listen because God wishes to communicate His people through prayer. The secret of prayer is being hungry and thirst for the Living Water – God. The Psalmist says; “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God” (Psalm 42:1). Prayer signifies our closeness and personal relationship to God. How to pray? When to pray? What to pray?
How to pray?
We can pray silently. In every instant, Jesus wanted to listen to our hearts. He wanted us to inform Him of our personal affairs although nothing is hidden from His watchful eyes. All Jesus wanted is that we should be honest and offer to Him every little concern that we have. This is a simple prayer focused on God. And most of all we can pray in words. God knows our every thought, desire and action, but let us also tell Him our needs using our vocal prayers. We can pray joyfully and expressing our closeness and gratitude to God. This is through singing hymns of praise to the King.
Let us not just pray because we wanted something from God however, we can always tell anything we wanted to. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Philippians 4:6). He is our ultimate friend who is ready to listen to us.
When to Pray?
We should not only pray when we are sad or happy. In prayer, we must be humble and helpless because the Holy Spirit will descend a humble soul.“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans” (Roman 8:26).
We can pray to Him during our emptiness and allowing the spirit of God to pray within us. We can always pray even if we are infuriated, let us ask His guidance to make the situation favorable. Remember, God is our loving and merciful Father. He will listen to every word coming from our lips, but God listen more than words He will also examines our hearts.
What to Pray?
Let us earnestly pray for the marginalized, the sick, the migrant workers, and those who are afflicted and in prison cells. We must also to pray for the heads of the state and church leaders and ministers. Let us deeply pray for peace in our family, community and to our beloved country. And let us pray for grace and holiness in everything that we do, say and think.
“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
He said to them, “When you pray, say:
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sin for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation” (Luke 11:1-4).
Therefore, during our prayer time, we shouldn’t always do the talking remember prayer is a loving conversation between God and man. In prayer we must be like a little child telling Him all our needs. Then, thanking and praising God for all the great things He has done to us. And solemnly listen to the Holy Spirit whispering some words of wisdom deep within us. In this way, the real joy and inner peace will be instilled to every heart that seeks comfort, love and forgiveness through our intimate conversation with our Creator. And definitely, God answers every petition in His own way and perfect timing and even doubly grants our requests.
Love is one of God’s indescribable gifts. It is His passion for human beings. The love of God is a commitment, but it is not dependent on feelings. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son that whoever believes on him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). This is the greatest love of God bestowed to all humankind. However, because of its greatness it is very hard for us humans to understand why God send forth His only Son to suffer and die in our place. Jesus offers His life on the cross for the salvation of our souls. May the love of God can be seen in us, through our Godly deeds and tender compassion to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
The Holy Spirit creates and fills our hearts with much joy, which is the result of trusting God. Knowing that He will be our confidence whatever life may bring. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20). Real joy can only be attained by making God the center of our lives. The joy deep within us will also reflect unto our countenance. If God is with us no one can steal that joy which is a result of forgiveness and inner cleansing. He will make all things beautiful in His own way and time despite of the troubles in this life. Let us rejoice and lift our burdens to God through prayers.
It has been said that “a world of prayer is a world at peace.” However, in this chaotic society where crimes, brutality and misunderstanding among us are very much rampant, it is impossible to attain real peace. Nevertheless, with God everything would be possible. In John 14:27 Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you, what the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Each one of us craves for global, social and personal peace, but the most essential of which is a peace from God – A Blessed Peace.
“Patience is the key for everything.” It is essential in order to surpass every test that we will meet as we journey in this life.” Be patient, then brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near” (James 5:7-8). Forbearance brings peace, unity and harmony to all God’s children.
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people holy and dearly loved clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:12-13). Because of His love and compassion, God has given us many blessings to enjoy and share them to those in dire need. May the kindness that we offer will be done out of love and generosity.
The virtue that we show to others reflects our personal relationship with God. The true followers of Christ are those who are able to live life with generosity and tender compassion to others. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven “(Matthew 5:16).The truly godly among us are those who are able to love his brother and sister in Christ Jesus by sharing whatever resources he has in this world. The root of our goodness is no other than God.
A man of faith is never alone, because God will be his confidence in whatever circumstances that he will meet in this life. In Matthew 25:23 His master replied, “Well done good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge with many things. Come and share your masters’ happiness!” God has entrusted us with talents and abilities for a special purpose. Let us invest our God-given talents for His glory by sharing it to the needy, so that when Christ will come, He will be glad that we are faithful with the gifts He bestowed unto us and like the faithful servant, we will also rejoice with Him on His dwelling place in heaven.
Gentleness is a product of self-control for a man who can control his emotions has true humility. As Christians, let us utter words that bring healing, rather than those that will defile others. Our deeds and actions might, lead our fellowmen to destruction. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”( Galatians 5:22-23).Our brain should not harbor evil thoughts and desires rather of a pure and stimulating ideas. May God’s word will be our standard in life.
A man who is filled with God’s wisdom has self-control.” Different feelings, emotions and desires might outburst due to lack of self-control. Proverbs 16:32, states that “Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his emotions than those who takes a city.” Self-control results to right thinking, the desire to do good things and trusting God in whatever circumstances that we encounter through life. Self-control is necessary in bringing out harmony in every situation.
God send forth peace that this world cannot offer. Peace emanate within in our hearts. It is a blessed peace of knowing God and His goodness to us. Peace will only takes place when we are living in the truth and following an example of Christ Jesus, who is the Prince of peace. Peace is the beginning of all the wonderful things in life. “Where there is faith, there is love; where there is love, there is peace; where there is peace, there is God; and where there is God; there is no need,” Leo Tolstoy quipped.
Peace is not the availability of our basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. It is not the absence of war and misunderstanding. Peace does not commence when we are successful, famous and powerful. Honor, fame and material success are not the foundation of real peace but the beginning of pride and self-righteousness. If we only think of our personal merits, dignity and progress in life we could not attain real peace. In every achievement that we have, let us always acknowledge that God is behind it.
When peace reigns in every heart, generosity takes place. Peace only begins when we experience the kindness of God deep within us and be able to share our resources to those in dire need. Giving alms and serving our fellowmen is the manifestation of real peace and inner joy. When there is no peace, we will continue to hunger and thirst for it, but no food or water could satiate our longings. If there is no peace life could not reach the maximum level of satisfaction. We keep on searching, but found nothing worth living for.
Our deepest desire for a genuine peace can be found in Jesus alone. He is the fountain of life constant and boundless coming from heavens above. In John 14:27, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you, as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”. A peaceful mind creates a joyful spirit. Let the blessed peace which is coming from God begin in our lives today.
